Yongmeori Beach

Yongmeori Beach

Yongmeori Beach is named after the appearance of a dragon’s head diving into the sea, which is the result of waves crashing against layers upon layers of sandstone built up over millions of years. The beach is formed of lava ejected from three underwater craters. Unlike Seongsan Ilchulbong or Suwolbong tuff cones, it is noteworthy for its topographical features shaped by moving craters. It’s also the oldest submarine volcano in Jeju.
