  • Description of the Work

OWA-7HO Kim Won-kyu work is based on the theme of ‘destructive balance,’ and contrasting emotions are composed on the screen by borrowing images of street traces. The work presented at L7 this time, , is a variation of the series shown at the invitational exhibition “A Light Fantasy.”
The artist balances the contrast of desire on the canvas by borrowing the destructive images of romantic decay and traces found on the streets. The wounded beauty captured on the canvas is suspended between contrasting emotions.

I want to have speed while maintaining my identity.
    A clash of desires.
A lane that cannot be changed.
I want to run, but I stop repeatedly.
The true meaning of the ‘words of reality’ that refer to speed is unknown.

  • About the Artist

Artist OWA-7HO Kim Won-kyu creates a destructive balance by overlapping traces of time encountered on the street with questions. Desire makes you walk endlessly through a cruel cave.
The OWA-7HO artist group finds visual language in the ‘traces of time’ captured on the streets and continues the story through painting and fashion. When you are drawn to the ‘traces of the street’ that are constantly created, transformed, and lost, you come across a light fantasy. The process gradually changes, resembling the ‘accidental change’ nature of traces.
Won the ‘NEXT NIGHT OUT’ contest, held by WWD Korea and Gallery X, to discover new artists of the ‘next’ generation across all fields of art.
