The LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS journey to promote a sustainable vacation culture
As demand for corporate social responsibility and sustainability increases, internalizing ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives in management has become essential.
As the global supply network experienced instability due to the prolonged pandemic, in addition to climate change, including heatwaves and flooding worldwide,
the need for urgent action to address these issues has become more pressing than ever.
In the midst of this global crisis, LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS recognizes the critical role and impact of corporations in shaping a sustainable future.
We are committed to fostering a journey where employees, guests, and the local community collaborate towards this shared goal.
Under the vision of "Green Hospitality For Sustainable Living" established in 2022,
in 2023 LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS chose Re:Think as an overall campaign motto for the individual ESG segments, and is actively pursuing various initiatives to promote a more sustainable vacation culture.

Re:Think Journey
LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS is committed to ensuring that vacations do not harm the environment. We actively participate in various sustainability campaigns to promote a culture of sustainable travel.
In August 2023, we signed an MOU with the Jeju Tourism Organization and social enterprise JeClean Co., Ltd. to foster an eco-friendly vacation culture in Jeju. As part of this commitment, we participated in the eco-friendly vacation pledge campaign, established an upcycling system for old linen and organized various events such as the Re:Think Journey plogging&concert featuring a renowned artist and young local musicians. In addition, we hosted an orchestra donation concert, bringing together musicians both with and without disabilities, and encouraged blood donation. These collaborative efforts and donations aim to create a harmonious local community where we coexist with our neighbors.
* The LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS Re:Think Journey started in 2023 with Episode Ⅰ JEJU, and will continue with a journey to Busan in Episode Ⅱ BUSAN, in 2024.
Re:Think Stay
Starting in August 2023, LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS introduced the Re:Think Stay package in response to guest requests for an eco-friendly stay. With this package, bedding is not cleaned for stays of 2-3 nights.
Thanks to the support of our guests, the Re:Think Stay package that reduces the bedding laundry process has continued into 2024. In addition, LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS is committed to high standards of environmental management, and has implemented ISO14001 (environmental management systems) across all our hotel chains since 2023. Furthermore, we have installed solar energy facilities and food waste processing facilities as part of our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable vacations.

LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS is creating various connections so that our vacations will have a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
LOTTE SKYHILL CC JEJU introduced the first-ever pet-accompanied round of golf in Korea as part of our concerns regarding abandoned dogs, which has become a social issue in Jeju. As a result, all profits generated from pet admissions have been donated to dog shelters since 2023. Moreover, LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS connects with children from vulnerable backgrounds, individuals with disabilities, youths, and other marginalized groups, to foster a supportive and inclusive community.

Re:Think Sustainability
LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS spreads sustainable values through campaigns in each ESG segment and also offers training.
Through our MOU with the Korea Climate and Environment Network under the Ministry of Environment, all of our hotel branches in South Korea participated in a lights-out event on Earth Day, to remind our guests and staff of the importance of reducing energy consumption. Additionally, all staff members participated in the "Carbon Neutrality Daily Practice Campaign," which encourages practices such as using the stairs instead of elevators, opting for reusable cups over disposable ones, and unplugging unused appliances, with the goal of cultivating habits that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
LOTTE HOTELS & RESORTS will continuously strive to remind everyone that a sustainable future is not a distant goal, but rather a positive step that is within reach.
