Gyeongbokgung Palace
It is within walking distance from LOTTE HOTEL SEOUL, only 10-minutes away, and is close to Gwanghwamun Square and the Blue House.
Gyeongbok Palace is Korea’s most iconic palace and is where you can find the office of the king, the beautiful palaces and gardens of the Emperor and Empress, and the Gyeonghoeru Pavilion, where banquets were held. It is a beautiful palace that is open during the day and at times, even at night.
The Changing of the Royal Guard at Gyeongbokgung Palace is also popular among tourists. You can get to the palace from Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3 or Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5. You’ll also find the National Folk Museum of Korea, National Museum of Contemporary Art, and National Palace Museum of Korea nearby the palace.

Deoksugung Palace
Inside Deoksugung Palace, conveniently located three to five minutes’ walk from LOTTE HOTEL SEOUL, there is a beautiful garden and the National Museum of Contemporary Art. It is where Emperor Gojong of Joseon died and where the historical Korean royal refuge at the Russian legation (Agwan Pacheon) took place. The beautiful scenery of the Deoksugung Stone Wall Path is perfect for you to feel the quaint beauty of autumn. It is right by City Hall Station on subway Lines 1 and 2, adjacent to the Seoul Museum of Art.

Changdeokgung Palace
Inside Changdeokgung Palace, located five to 10 minutes’ drive from LOTTE HOTEL SEOUL, is the Secret Garden, designated as a world heritage site.

Jongmyo Shrine
Located a five to 10 minute drive from LOTTE HOTEL SEOUL, Jongmyo is where ancestral rites are held for the Emperors and Empresses of history. Here you can watch traditional ancestral ceremonies and listen to royal music. It can be reached via Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station on lines 1 and 3 and is a great place to go for a tour, as it is right by the Jongno Jewelry Shopping Street and the Sewoon Electronics Plaza.
