  • Description of the Work

“Split or Plunge" is an artwork by Jisu JANG (1993-) that explores the psychological drama within an individual's inner world through visual metaphors. Created in oil on a wooden panel, the painting features a contrast between black and white masses set against an aqua blue background. A pale white veil covers the black in the upper right background, portraying the artist's ambiguous attitude under anxiety. The intentional decision to leave the edge of the panel unpainted underscores the significance of the painting process itself.
